Due to the size and complexity of the UK portfolio, Trespass outsourced the day-to-day management of their utilities to a third party broker. Over time, the senior Management Team noted a number of limitations in the support provided by the broker and took the decision to go out to the market for a new partner. After an in-depth selection process, Boxfish were chosen to support the ongoing management of all energy and water needs across the UK operations.
Our initial task was to streamline the various energy and water contracts, and optimise the costs incurred across the full portfolio. Our approach focused on providing high quality, comprehensive and proactive utility Bureau support services that were designed to remove the day-to-day burden from the Trespass team and which also provided complete transparency on the costs involved. This involved procuring utility contracts so that they fell in line with the larger portfolio, identifying and resolving legacy errors carried over from the previous broker as well as looking at consumption efficiency to help Trespass reduce overall energy and water demand.
By focusing in on the detail, leveraging our 25 years of experience and concentrating on working in partnership with Trespass, Boxfish were able to achieve direct, bottom line savings of over £170,000 for Trespass in the first 12-months of the contract.

We are delighted with the ongoing utility management support we’ve received from the Boxfish team and would highly recommend them to any other business. Not only have they reduced the amount of time that our staff spend dealing with suppliers and complex queries but they’ve also delivered hundreds of thousands of pounds in savings. Their desire to work in partnership with us was a game changer over the support we received from the previous broker and has already seen us agree an extension of the management contract. We look forward to doing more together in the future.
