Common Wheel, a Glasgow-based charity, has been making meaningful strides in sustainability, aiming to minimise their environmental impact. However, in order to better document their progress and secure future funding for their sustainability initiatives, the organisation needed to understand its current greenhouse gas emissions and identify areas with the highest impacts. Without the in-house expertise to conduct a comprehensive analysis, Common Wheel sought support from Boxfish to enhance their environmental understanding.
Boxfish collaborated with Common Wheel to produce a Carbon Baseline report, analysing both direct energy use (Scope 1 and 2 emissions) and mandatory scope 3 emissions (vehicles used on company business). The report quantified the charity’s current emissions, and included practical recommendations for reducing emissions across various operational areas. Furthermore, Boxfish provided clear, actionable priorities to help Common Wheel set and achieve its sustainability targets, helping the charity demonstrate its commitment to environmental responsibility when applying for funding and to the general public.
With the Carbon Baseline report in hand, Common Wheel now has a strong foundation for understanding their emissions profile and prioritising efforts to reduce their carbon footprint.
