Boxfish are delighted to report that the government has recently announced the reopening of the Climate Change Agreements (CCA) scheme to new entrants, with the short window for applications ending on 31st March 2022.
The good news is that this deadline extension now means that new, eligible companies still have time to get applications in and benefit from reduced rates on the Climate Change Levy (CCL) through to 31 March 2025. The bad news? The application process can be slow, painful and take up a substantial amount of time. That’s where we come in.
Firstly, a bit of background – the Climate Change Agreement (CCA) scheme started in 2013 with a voluntary agreement between UK businesses and Government to reduce energy use and carbon dioxide emissions. CCAs are applicable to a range of industries, from manufacturing and retail to food & drink and agricultural – a full list of sector associations is listed here.
Eligible businesses can save up to 92% on their electricity and 83% of gas from CCL (Climate Change Levy) payment. All good stuff, right? And we’re helping to save the planet into the bargain.
So you want to jump on board but don’t have the time or the resource to dedicate to the application process. Boxfish to the rescue!
